Hi!

Hey there! Just a note to say that I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth! :) I'm directing a camp for adults with disabilities right now, and I am WORN OUT! We did one session with one set of campers last week, and are doing round 2 with a different set of campers this week. It is so much fun, but truly exhausting. Fortunately, I have a dear friend (an MSD teacher who will have her first classroom this coming school year) who is helping me and taking lots of pictures...I can't wait to see them! She's a GREAT photographer. I'll be sure to post some for you to see and talk about the activities we did at camp. I love working with these adults...they remind me of my babies, just all grown up :) Hope you are loving your summer!

I Saw it on Pinterest!

Amber at Adventures of a Third Grade Teacher is having a fun linky party about Pinterest finds she wants to try.

To get to the Linky, just click on the picture above. I decided to link up because I am totally, completely, HOPELESSLY addicted to that fabulous site. Here are some Pinterest finds I've tried or want to try this summer.

Melty crayon art. Of ANY variety.

I'd love to deck out my clipboards for maximum station cuteness :)

Genius idea! Spray paint a tool box and add colorful paper and labels. This would be perfect for organizing my supplies. I'm DEFINITELY doing this project!

Milk crates zip-tied together with a bench cushion on top and bins from Lowe's on the bottom. Smart, easy, and pretty cheap, too!

Crack dip from Plain Chicken. I've already made it once this summer and my family devoured it! It isn't anything complicated but it is utterly addictive :)

Jalapeno Popper Buffalo Chicken Mac-n-Cheese. Three of my favorite things all wrapped up into one dish. Can't wait to try this one!

I could go on forever, but I think I'll stop there. Pinterest is life changing! Come check out my boards (education related, related services related, food related, and craft related) by clicking on the Pinterest logo below. Happy pinning!

Mostly True Stuff

OK fellow "Speckled Eggs" (AKA special ed buddies), I have a blog that you HAVE to check out. It is called Mostly True Stuff and it is seriously my most favorite blog related to special needs out there. The author, Lexi, has a son with Autism and a daughter with Down Syndrome. She is honest, she's funny, she's sentimental, and she says what we are ALL thinking! Most recently, she wrote this post on Jenny McCarthy (who I can't stand) that made me swoon :-) Check her out soon...I promise you will be HOOKED! I would love to meet Lexi one day...I might just steal her darling little Abby ;-)

Assistive Technology

Alright special ed friends (if any of you are actually still reading my stuff!), I have a question...what are your best assistive technology ideas? I have a feeling I'll be needing and using AT a lot next year, and I'm looking for ideas. I found this great idea at Ms. Rachel's Room for a card holder...cheap and easy! If you have any posts or links to assistive technology you think could inspire me, please post below!

Changing it up!

OK, I know I've called myself the worst blogger ever before now, but I REALLY do get the award this time! I know we are all busy, but it seems like my life was taken over this Spring by the {too} many things I'm involved in. That being said, I am planning on reinventing this blog for the next school year! I will be the MSD Classroom (Moderate to Severe Disabilities, for those of you who don't use that lingo) for elementary students throughout our district next year, so my posts will be changing a bit! I'm planning on doing things with Boardmaker, SymWriter, picture schedules, social stories, and MUCH more. Hopefully any of my printables and such will be more MSD related next year, and I hope to improve what I'm doing. I know it will be a challenge, but I am SO ready for it! Enjoy your summer and look for *lots* of posts from me next school year!
